From music to clothing, cryptocurrency, and beyond — Lil Yachty continues to expand his burgeoning empire. Highsnobiety has learned that the 23-year-old artist’s latest venture is his own brand of nail polish, called Crete.
We received news of Yachty’s new line after he recently came out in support of a high school boy who was suspended for showing up to school with his nails painted. The 17-year-old, named Trevor Wilkinson, was given in-school suspension by Clyde High School in West Texas after being spotted with painted nails on campus.
This week, Yachty was approached by TMZ about the incident. He insisted the nail polish was harmless, adding that Wilkinson should be able to express himself freely. The musician went on to add that he dealt with similar situations in college.
In recent months, Lil Yachty has become well recognized for his eye-catching nail art. With Crete, he hopes to help break the “stigma and drop these barriers on men expressing themselves,” Crete Brand Director Janelle Alfonso tells us.
News of Yachty’s nail polish line comes as he recently released his own cryptocurrency, called YachtyCoin. You can learn more about it here.
